In the fall of 2005 the Ministry of Education and Sports constructed a building at Ižanska cesta 10 opposite the Botanic Gardens. The building hosts all food technology programmes of our institution. In 2009/2010 the existing programmes were added nature protection technician programme.

In 2008 and 2009 the school building was expanded. First we constructed a large and well-equipped sports hall for physical education classes. A year later, a kitchen was rebuilt where 750 warm meals can now be prepared.

The employees are trying to offer secondary school students as pleasant and as safe environment as possible along with a great amount of knowledge, the best possible working conditions in well-equipped laboratories as well as activities that are typical of our school and enrich normal school days. Technical knowledge in the area of food technology and nature protection is extremely important which enables us to keep up with the development in the area home and abroad. All areas of food technology and nature protection encompass biotechnological and ecological awareness which means that we are oriented towards conducting research and developing ways of producing, processing, transporting and using foods with as little impact on the environment as possible.

Programmes Baker, Pastry Confectioner and Butcher involve obligatory practical instruction, which is carried out in our sophisticated, purpose-built classrooms. Students are also required to complete part of their practical training via a work placement in one of our numerous partner companies located throughout Slovenia and abroad, as part of our international cooperation.
